JACK HUBLEY’S WILD NEIGHBORS

If you’re looking for a wildlife program and don’t mind learning while you laugh, I have a number of programs that should suit your needs. My lectures feature live, native North American wildlife. I specialize in the animals that live all around us – species that have adapted to living in urban/suburban landscapes. Most of us have never even seen many of these species, and, even if we have, we know little about their fascinating and secretive lives. Here’s my list of topics:

  • Critters Beyond Your Back Door – This is a close look at the wildlife found in our backyards and the fields and woodlots beyond. The list includes small to medium-size mammals, snakes and birds of prey. The audience actually gets to handle some of these animals safely housed in clear plastic tubes.
  • Critters Nobody Loves – This program features some of the above and also includes spiders.
  • Snakes: Venomous or Not? – This program features many species native to the Northeast and offers tips on how to tell the difference between venomous and nonvenomous species at a safe distance.
  • Birds of Prey – This program offers a close look at our beautiful, fascinating and spectacular avian predators, the hawks and owls.
